Learn more about the Friends of Keene Memorial Library initiatives on this site.
The Friends of Keene Memorial Library exists to inspire the community to fully utilize Keene Memorial Library facilities and resources, provide supplemental support, and encourage life-long learning.
The original Fremont Public Library was built in 1903 on the corner of Military and Park avenues, where the Runza restaurant is now. It was one of the first of 68 Carnegie libraries in Nebraska. This library was built when Fremont had a population of 8,700.
